“ We went for just feed me option and order 3 more oysters with beer. The waitress offered us a little sample of beer before ordering one which was helpful. The food was generally good but does it worth the price and 2 hats? I’m not sure. ”
“ Food was mindblowing. We did NOT go for the "just feed me" option, although in hindsight it might have been the wiser choice. We followed the recommendation of the staff to get 3 starters (beef tartare/scallop ceviche/eggplant), 2 vegetables (grilled carrots and brussel sprouts), and 1 main (lamb shoulder). This was FAR too much food for two to share and we had to pack some to take away. Either that or Kiwis just eat a ton. In terms of quality- as mentioned earlier, fantastic. Standouts were very clearly the beef tartare and the lamb shoulder. In both cases, easily the best versions we have ever tried. Paired with a glass of shiraz this meal was just delightful. I would say service is on the less attentive end, but that's okay. I'd come back here again. ”
“ Had a delicious feed me dinner here; which I highly recommend. We did the wine and beer pairing and it was delicious and paired very very well on all the flavour notes. For what you receive the price is reasonable and trust me the food will blow you away. Eloise was our waiter and she was lovely. ”
“ Great dining experience at Kika. Reservations are absolutely necessary here as it’s very popular - with good reason! Great ambiance with the large open fire. Warm and friendly service. The food was exceptional. We shared the lamb shoulder which was cooked to perfection - crispy skin and pull-apart meat. Excellent wine list too. Highly recommend when in Wānaka. ”
“ Fantastic taster menu. We went for the "Just Feed Me" option and it was awesome. Every dish was delicious and full of character. You could really see the thought that had gone into the different combinations of flavours. The salmon and beef short rib were the best but everything was great! Service, drinks and atmosphere where also fantastic. Would definitely recommend! ”
“ For the price I expected more. The service was very friendly but they were not attentive. Didn't know what we last tasted, didn't know if we had wine pairing or not, didn't know what kind of tea they have. The starter of raw salmon with xo or kinchi seaweed cracker was great. The rest of the courses were normal. We were served a briased beef rib for the main. It was nicely cooked but was not spectacular. ”
“ We drove from Dunedin to Wanaka with Kika in mind and were not disappointed! First, the service was absolutely amazing and attentive, especially Racheal, who was looking after our table. Food-wise, we have chosen the Just Feed Me menu with a beef allergy, which was well accommodated. The highlight for us was the salmon entrée. They also have a good wine list. Overall, we are delighted with our dining experience in Kika and will come back next time when we visit Wanaka. ”
